What is The Difference Between Fire Proof Fabric and Fire Retardant Fabric?

Generally speaking, fire proof fabric is fire retardant fabric, but only the higher grade fire retardant fabric can be called fire proof fabric, like asbestos fabric, glass fabric etc.

The fire retardant fabric referes to the fabric can be ignited by the fire, but can be self-extinguished within 12 seconds after left the open fire. The fire retardant fabric can slow down the burning speed of fabric, but will produce carbonization phenomena.

Commonly used fire retardant fabrics are after treatment fire retardant fabric and inherent fire retardant fabric, after treatment fabrics are 100% cotton fire retardant fabric, cvc fire retardant fabric, cotton/nylon 88/12 fire retardant fabric etc.

Inherent fire retardant fabric contains aramid fire retardant fabric, modacrylic/cotton fire retardant fabric etc.
