Arc concept:
The arc is the discharge of electric current through the gas. When enough intensity of current passes through ionized air, an arc will occur. An arc can cause an explosion, usually lasting less than 1 seconds, but can release huge radiation energy and ignite or melt everyday clothes. The arc temperature is very high, and the core temperature can reach 20000 degrees centigrade. The arc may cause many secondary hazards such as flame, high temperature gas, molten metal spatter, pressure wave and so on. It may also produce high decibels noise and electric shock risk.

Anti arc fabric grade requirements:
The requirements for the level of foreign arc prevention are as follows:
Level 1 requires APTV (arc energy test) greater than 4 Cal/cm2 1 layers.
Level 2 requires APTV or 8Cal/cm2 anti arc fabric with 1 or 2 layers.
Level 3 requires APTV or 25Cal/cm2 anti arc fabric with 2 or 3 layers.
Level 4 requires APTV or 40Cal/cm2 anti arc fabric of 3 or more.
Cal/cm2 (per square centimeter calorie) is the total energy on a unit area. It is the unit of arc magnitude. The exposure energy of 1 cal/cm2 is equivalent to a lighted cigarette butt on the fingertip for 1 seconds. As long as 1-2 cal/cm2, it will cause 2 Extreme burns to the human skin.
