Description

1. Fabric Specification

CVC = Chief Value Cotton, standard blending: 55% cotton + 45% polyester, commonly 240–320g/m² twill/drill weave.
  • Cotton: the key carrier for Proban FR chemical treatment, natural moisture absorption & breathability to improve wearing comfort.
  • Polyester: boosts tensile strength, anti-wrinkle performance and low shrinkage, keeping bib-pant in good shape after repeated washing.

2. Proban FR Finishing Principle

This bib-pant adopts classic THPC-based Proban cross-link durable flame retardant treatment. FR agents produce stable chemical bonds inside cotton fiber rather than surface coating.
  • LOI ≥28; flame retardancy remains qualified after minimum 50 industrial launder cycles.
  • When contacting sparks or open flame, cotton carbonizes quickly into dense char barrier to isolate oxygen & heat, making garment self-extinguish away from fire source; char layer wraps polyester to reduce molten dripping risk.

Optional grid conductive yarn embedded to meet EN 1149-5 antistatic standard (10⁶~10¹¹Ω) for explosion-prone workshops.

3. Compliant EU Safety Standards (CE certification)

  1. EN ISO 11611 Class1: Welding protection against welding spatter, arc sparks and short-time flame.
  2. EN ISO 11612 A1/B1: Thermal protection against radiant heat, flame spread and hot metal splash.
  3. EN 1149-5: Antistatic certification for petrochemical, oil & gas hazardous working area.

Optional EN ISO20471 reflective tape for high visibility.

4. Bib-Pant Structural Design

  1. Adjustable wide FR suspenders with durable plastic buckles; full front chest bib adds extra anti-spatter protection on chest and belly.
  2. Double-layer reinforcement at knees with inner knee pad insert pocket; multi-purpose thigh cargo pockets for hand tools, ruler and pens.
  3. All snaps, bindings and sewing threads are flame resistant; adjustable leg cuffs prevent welding debris into trousers.

5. Application

General arc welding, steel fabrication, machinery repair, chemical plant routine maintenance, oil depot inspection and light metallurgy operation.

6. Pros & Cons

Advantages

  1. Proban cross-link finish offers far better wash durability than ordinary padding FR treatment.
  2. Balanced breathability and cost: cheaper than modacrylic/aramid bib-pants, more comfortable than high-poly T/C styles, top-selling export FR bib-pant.
  3. Wrinkle-resistant and dimension stable, convenient for daily industrial use.

Disadvantages

FR is post chemical finishing not inherent fiber FR; flame resistance will degrade gradually after over 80–100 heavy washing times. Slight polyester melting drip under extreme ultra-high temperature splash, not for heavy close-range smelting.
